Otherworldly jewelry for worldly pursuits.
TYTIN Jewelry blends echoes of the ancient past with visions of fantastical futures to create otherworldly pieces grounded in tradition. Each design invites you on a journey of personal inspiration, encouraging creativity and wonder in everyday life.
Our Process
Handcrafted, Start to Finish
-
Each TYTIN piece is handmade in Chicago using a thoughtful blend of ancient and modern jewelry-making techniques. Traditional methods like wax carving and metal casting meet the precision of CAD design and 3D printing, creating pieces that honor the past while embracing the future. From digital modeling to hand-setting stones and finishing each detail by hand, every step is a balance of innovation and craftsmanship, resulting in jewelry thatβs both timeless and distinctly personal.
-
TYTIN offers a range of piecesβfrom ready-to-wear fashion jewelry to fully custom fine designs made from scratch. Many of our existing pieces can also be personalized to suit your preferences, allowing you to make something already beautiful feel even more like yours. No matter the path you choose, each piece is artfully crafted with thoughtful attention to detailβfrom the shape of every stone to the angle of every prong.
-
We proudly uphold a commitment to ethical sourcing and thoughtful craftsmanship. Our gemstones are carefully selected from a trusted network of socially responsible suppliersβantique specialists, miners, and artisan gem cuttersβwhile our metals are cast locally in Chicagoβs historic Jewelerβs Row by a family-owned business and Responsible Jewelry Council (RJC) member. We embrace a wide spectrum of diamonds and gemstones beyond traditional norms, offering 14k and 18k golds, Palladium White gold, and Platinum. Whether sourcing a one-of-a-kind gem or repurposing an heirloom stone, we approach every piece with care, integrity, and expertise.
-
TYTIN Jewelry is proudly handmade in Chicago, led by founder and designer Tina alongside her small, trusted team. After years of working from her dining room, Tina found the perfect home for TYTIN in 2022βa light-filled studio and showroom in the heart of North Center. Nestled in a vibrant pocket of Chicago surrounded by fellow small businesses, the TYTIN studio at 4101 N. Lincoln Ave. is where each piece comes to life, thoughtfully crafted with care, intention, and deep local roots.
-
Our relationship doesnβt end when your piece leaves the studio. TYTIN offers lifetime services like annual cleaning, re-polishing, and stone tightening to help your jewelry shine for years to come. Weβre here for repairs, questions, and careβbecause once youβre part of our orbit, you always are.

Meet Tina
Tina studied Fashion at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago before moving to New York to pursue a career in the industry. She discovered a passion for jewelry-making at a local studio, which eventually led her to study at the Gemological Institute of America. Back in Chicago, she gained hands-on experience across Jewelerβs Row and later opened her own neighborhood studio.
Today, she designs unconfined jewelry for remarkable people. Outside the studio, she enjoys yoga, walks with her family, craft cocktails, and daydreaming about the sun and seaβdespite her love for Chicago.

Kind Words From Our Clients
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Every TYTIN piece is handcrafted in Chicago with love and longevity in mind. I take pride in ensuring every piece is created with the utmost care and quality so that it may be passed down for generations or unearthed intact centuries later. That being said, a lot of its longevity also depends on your lifestyle and routine maintenance.
I recommend taking your jewels off when doing such activities as showering, washing the dishes, jumping in the ocean, handling any type of harsh chemicals (i.e. hand sanitizer), operating tough machinery, or anything that involves using your hands or body near and around hard surfaces.
When not wearing your piece, store it in a dedicated spot in your home. Place it in a jewelry dish, pouch, box - something that is specifically for that piece every time. When traveling or going to the gym, place it in a little pouch or chain on your neck - again, in the same spotβ¦every single time.
For routine maintenance, visit us yearly for your custom design or fine jewelry complimentary cleaning.
-
Wiping your jewelry with our included polishing cloth can help maintain your jewelryβs luster and keep it clean from daily use. For a deeper clean, fill a bowl with warm water and a little dish washing soap. I recommend Dawn Dish Soap in Original Scent (the blue one). Soak your jewelry for a few minutes and then scrub it gently with a soft toothbrush. The bristles of the toothbrush will help you to get into any small crevices. Rinse in water and pat dry with a soft cloth. Itβs best to use a cloth that doesnβt have any loose threads that could get stuck in prongs. An old t-shirt is a great option for this.

Silver and brass develop a natural tarnish or blackening over time when exposed to oxygen and moisture. It is completely natural and harmless. Brass can sometimes turn skin green depending on a personβs natural body chemistry; again totally normal, and it should go away after some hand washing. You can apply clear nail polish on the inside of brass rings to temporarily prevent the βgreen fingerβ. The nail polish will need to be reapplied as it does wear away. The best way to prevent silver tarnishing is to actually wear your silver jewelry more often! The oils from your skin can help prevent it. For when youβre not wearing your silver or brass pieces though, store them in an airtight container or baggie (like a ziplock bag). And for extra prevention, you can throw in a little silica gel packet. You can also store your pieces in an anti tarnish baggie such as these. If your silver or brass jewelry does tarnish, wipe with a polishing cloth and refer to For All TYTIN Jewels for cleaning methods.
-
Sometimes gold can tarnish slightly but nothing as severe as silver. If it does, refer to All TYTIN Jewels for cleaning methods. If youβre wanting a super deep clean, you can always visit us at our studio for your complimentary yearly cleaning or a reputable jewelry store and ask them to clean it. We suggest not using any at-home ultrasonic to clean your pieces especially if it has any gemstones. Certain gemstones such as opals, tanzanites, and emeralds are much more delicate than diamonds and should not be put into the ultrasonic. The vibrations in ultrasonics can also cause stone settings to loosen which we check for in our studio under magnification - something you canβt do at home.

The most accurate way to figure out your finger size is to go to your local jewelry store and get sized by a professional. If you are local to Chicago, I would be happy to arrange a meeting at our studio to size your finger. This can even be done after you make a purchase! Just include in the notes or email me directly that you need to schedule a sizing. If you have made a purchase and are out of state, I will also send you a plastic ring sizer to confirm your size before proceeding to any resizing.
If you are not local, do not have access to a jewelry store, and want to figure out your size before purchasing, the next best thing is to purchase a plastic ring sizer. You can do so from our website. Just be aware with this sizer, there are still small discrepancies, but it is still much better than any printable ring size chart. Those we do not recommend.
Itβs best to size your finger several times at different times of the day, in different weathers, or even after youβve eaten a meal. Our fingers can fluctuate a lot depending on these factors. Itβs best to do it several times and come up with an average.
If you are trying to secretly figure out your partnerβs finger size, I recommend finding a ring they wear (ideally on their ring finger) and tracing the interior circumference with a mechanical pencil. The thinner the point, the better to avoid discrepancies. Then measure the diameter. With that measurement we can get close to the right size.
-
If you received your ring and find that it is the wrong size, we do offer resizing services on our pieces for an additional fee. The fee begins at $50 for silver and $65 for fine jewelry pieces and does not include applicable shipping charges. Final rates vary and are determined by the complexity of the sizing. For instance, if it requires going larger, more metal will be needed which will be taken into account of the final fee.
In general, most of our styles can be sized up or down 1-2 sizes. In the event the sizing is very off and the design does not allow us to size it, there is an option of remaking the ring in the correct size. There are additional costs in remaking a ring and we can discuss them should this happen.
Our one of a kind fine jewelry pieces and custom designs do include one complimentary sizing and one upgraded UPS 2nd day insured shipping. Beyond these, applicable sizing and/or shipping fees will be applied.
We typically need about 2 weeks for the sizing process.

Yes! We love breathing new life into heirloom stones. We can reuse your stones in a custom piece or even one of our Made to Order styles.
Please understand, if we are reusing your heirloom stones in a new piece, we cannot be liable for the integrity of those stones and any potential damage caused. We absolutely guarantee to take the utmost care when handling them and are professionally trained to do so. We will also inspect your stones before removing them from their old settings and right after and will notify you if any damage is seen (i.e. chips). Gemstones are inherently unique each in their own way and may contain natural characteristics that add to their delicate qualities that are beyond our control. In the instance your gem is damaged during the production process, please understand there may be an additional cost to replace it.

Yes! Any of our styles can be customized to accommodate a different stone that we source for you, your heirloom stones, or even made in a different precious metal. Just reach out to inquire and learn more.

Lab grown diamonds have the exact same chemical make up and properties as natural diamonds. The only difference is lab grown diamonds are grown in a highly controlled laboratory environment using advanced technology as opposed to grown naturally from the earth. We choose to work with lab grown diamonds on occasion because of its numerous benefits. They are slightly more affordable than natural diamonds and they require no mining; making them the most ethical and conflict-free choice.
